Getting to you here
This is lane country north of Fareham. Fort Nelson sits on the ridge. Southwick (Hampshire), Knowle, Boarhunt and Wickham (Hampshire) sit in the folds. A car at Fort Nelson is a visitor car park on a hill. A car in a lane at North Boarhunt may be the only thing on that road. Width matters. So does a verge that will not take a jack after rain.
Inside PO17
Fort Nelson. The fort on the ridge, guns and a car park with a view. Visitors notice the puncture as they return. The road up ices. Stay on the tarmac.
Southwick (Hampshire). The village below the ridge, with a square and lanes out. Not any other Southwick. A fitting in the square on a weekend needs room that may not be there.
Southwick Park. The park and the establishment beside the village. Access can be controlled. Give the gate or the building.
Wickham (Hampshire). The square, the stream, and streets that were not drawn for a wide van. Name the square or the lane. A market day is a different problem from a Tuesday morning.
Knowle. The old hospital ground, now houses. Repeating streets. Give the street, not just Knowle.
Funtley. A village fold under the hill toward Fareham. Quiet. Driveway work. Soft verges in winter.
Boarhunt. A small village in the lanes. Very little passing room. If the vehicle is in the road, say so in the first line.
North Boarhunt. Further along the same lanes. Houses, not shops. Give the house. A jack on a verge after rain is a sinking jack.

If a car cannot pass you, the first job is to make room, not to fit a tyre in the middle of the road.
